Overview

Muktinath is a Vishnu temple, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. It is located in Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass in Mustang, Nepal. It is one of the world's highest temples. Within Hinduism, it is one of the 108 Divya Desams, and is the only Divya Desam located outside India.

Situated at an altitude of 3,710 meters (12,172 feet) at the base of the Thorong La mountain pass in the Mustang district, Muktinath is a highly venerated sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Hindus call the site Mukti Kshetra, which literally means the "place of salvation" and it is one of the most ancient temples of the God Vishnu and the Vaishnava tradition in Nepal. The shrine is considered to be one of the eight sacred places known as Svayam Vyakta Ksetras (the other seven being Srirangam, Srimushnam, Tirupati, Naimisharanya, Totadri, Pushkar and Badrinath), as well as one of the 108 Divya Desam, or holy places of worship of Lord Vishnu. Additionally, it is also one of the 51 Shakti Pitha goddess sites.

The temple is small and contains a human-sized golden statue of Vishnu as Shri Mukti Narayana. In addition to Mukti Narayana, the temple has bronze images of Bhoodevi (the Earth-goddess form of Lakshmi), the goddesses Saraswati and Janaki (Sita), Garuda (the mount of Vishnu), Lava-Kusa (the sons of Rama and Sita) and the Sapta Rishis (Seven Sages created by Lord Brahma). There is an old Buddhist monk present in the temple and worship is conducted by Buddhist nuns.

	Asim 17/08/2015 7 / 10 My family, party of 4, were in NYC to watch the USC football game. This location is superb; one of the best upscale neighborhoods in NYC. The apartment is large (for NYC), decorated nicely and very clean. Everything worked fine, Wi-Fi included. The place is nicely furnished and the sofa bed in the LR is Q-size and comfortable. Mpbht & Assoc. is very professional and was reponsive and available at all times. Ms.B, the principal, was an angel and I will deal with nobody else when we return to NYC. Exceptional experience.

Apartment is huge by NY standards, and location is brilliant. 10 minute walk to 5th ave, 2 mins to CP, Subway & Shops. Well maintained, and excellent service all round. Marcia, the owner is second to none! Always accessible & happy to assist with anything day or night. As I was staying alone she also insisted on visiting to bring me vitamins & comfort foods when I came down with a cold. Truly one of a kind! The French rustic feel of the apartment is such a charm, everything worked perfectly. Would definitely stay here again!
	Naz 17/08/2015 3 / 10 Beautiful apartment in a very quiet building located next to New York's best upscale shopping area - Madison avenue. The apartment is very close to good restaurants on Lexington avenue. Also close to Central Park, and world class museums. This is the second apartment I have stayed in in this building, and both are lovely. One has a balcony - a rarity in New York, and the other has a skylight in the bathroom. Marcia and her staff were very helpful. A great experience all around - highly recommended.

This apartment is on the 4th floor of a beautiful townhouse building, at the back of the building, making it wonderful and quiet. My husband is a very light sleeper and very fussy with accommodation but we slept very well in this apartment. The bed is incredibly comfortable and Marcia, the principal of Mbpht & Associates uses quality linen and furnishings in the apartment. The apartment is cleaned to a very high standard before you arrive and also midway through your visit. The apartment is a one bedroom apartment, so the bedroom is separate to the lounge room and kitchen, which makes it feel nice and roomy. Both the bedroom and the main area of the apartment are air conditioned and everything worked perfectly. 	Maryam 17/08/2015 7 / 10 We have had the pleasure of renting apartments on two occasions from Marcia. The apartments, a studio and a one bedroom were both very comfortable and relaxing. Marcia and her staff were always available when needed. The apartments were both very clean with comfortable, new furnishings. We have visited NYC several times and enjoy living like a local in an apt with the quietness of the East side. The apartment is walkable to Central Park as well as other west side top spots. No more hotels for us!
